Sweating and Acne

So, during puberty everybody grows more sweat glands. That's a part of the body when sweat can come out. When does sweat happen? Well, when people are exercising, if they're nervous, or maybe they're just really hot. But because people are sweating more, if they don't have good personal hygiene, sometimes they get body odor. Most of the time, the easiest way to deal with that is just to remember to shower more often. Another thing that people might be interested in during puberty is deodorant. There are a couple of different ways people can use those. Some of them just mask smells and just smell nice. Some of them help people sweat less. Some of them are all natural and some of them have lots of chemicals. You get to decide what works best for you. Another change that happens during puberty is that people grow more oil glands. Oil glands are places on the skin where oil comes out, that could be on the face, the chest, or the back. And when people grow more oil glands, sometimes they get pimples. So its important during puberty to eat healthy foods. If you eat junk food all the time -sugars and fats- you could get more pimples. But here's the bummer: sometimes you eat healthy food all the time, and you still get pimples and zits. So, what do you do if you get a pimple or a zit? No, no, no, no. I heard you say "pop it." That's not a good idea. The best thing to do is to wash more often. Keep your hands clean. Try not to pick or poke at them. And wash your face more regularly, that will help get rid of the extra oil. During puberty, people become a lot more conscious of personal hygiene. Because people are growing more sweat glands and more oil glands in their bodies, showering does become more important. So, you might find yourself having a new interest in jumping in the shower, keeping it clean.
